THE GOODSTOCK CENTRE FOR REJUVINATION
THE GOODSTOCK CENTRE FOR REJUVINATION
20th November 2025 – 25th February 2026 Daily, 10am – 6pm
UCL East – Marshgate, London
Making Space: Neurodivergent coffee morning – 9th Dec, 10am – noon at UCL East – Marshgate. Join Ray for a neurodovergent coffee morning. Chill, make friends, discuss your neuordivergent experience but most importantly take up space. You’ll also be invited to view The Goodstock installation. This event is FREE but ticketed.
The Goodstock Centre of Rejuvenation is a multidisciplinary installation bringing together mock-documentary film and spatial design to explore the legacies of eugenics and their ongoing impact on society.
Derived from the Greek for ‘wellborn’, eugenics promoted the belief that only those of ‘good stock’ should procreate – a flawed concept used to justify discrimination based on social class, mental health, sexual orientation, disability and race. These systems of exclusion echo today in far-right narratives and divisive social policies.
Imagining a fictional wellness retreat, the installation acts as a direct counterpoint to this history. The Goodstock celebrates the diversity of human experience and offers a vision of a more equitable future – a place of respite, inclusion and collective care that values neurodivergent minds and diverse ways of experiencing life.
Visitors are invited to slow down and soften their pace, presenting an invitation to ‘unmask’ – to resist the need to conform and instead make space for self-expression and authenticity to flourish.
The Goodstock Centre of Rejuvenation is part of Words Matter within UCL’s Prejudice in Power programme, in partnership with UCL Public Art and UCL Cultural and Community Engagement. Special thanks to Brownton Abbey and Marlborough Productions.
